- About
Dementia affects more than just memory, it can deeply impact relationships, daily routines, and overall wellbeing.
For those living with Dementia, the ability to maintain relationships can diminish, and everyday tasks like dressing, washing, and eating become increasingly difficult. As symptoms progress, people with Dementia can experience heightened anxiety, depression, or agitation. For carers, providing this level of care requires immense time, energy, and patience, often leading to isolation and exhaustion as they navigate the physical and emotional demands of caregiving.
ADS offers a range of services that reduce isolation, provide respite and inform families so they can navigate their Dementia journey as smoothly as possible. The safe spaces we create for both the carer and their loved one, enables access to support from our friendly Advisors and provides shared experiences with others who are experiencing similar things.
But it doesn't stop there, the charity continues to support carers after a loved one has moved into care or passed away. Just because their caring responsibilities have changed, doesn't mean they lose the support they need or the friends they have made. Former carers are always welcome.
Whilst we can’t change the Dementia diagnosis for people living with Dementia, 'ADS' can help and support those caring for them due to the generosity of supporters such as yourself.
